This Is Crying

What is happening inside of you?

That clay baby in your palm?

That pile of smiling stones?

That burning dead branch?

Your last tear,

and the blank paper stays blank.

The ash becomes sand,

eaten by the horror of the ocean.

Your first tear,

Transfiguration,

This is crying.
