The Labyrinth holds mysteries unfit for mortal eyes. Mysteries of eternal life. Of sudden death. Of sorcery and betrayal. The Immortal is an isometric action-adventure game, with combat scenes and multiple choices when it comes to story. Developed in 1990, this game is a fan favorite of the old retro games. The game consists of the player controlling an unnamed sorcerer, apprentice of Mordamir. The sorcerer faces various deadly creatures and traps in a dungeon, where at each stage he discovers more details about the story of his journey and finding new allies, items and dangers. The player must solve puzzles, avoid deathtraps, use magic spells (in the form of books and scrolls), and acquire various items in order to survive the labyrinth.
Released 31 July 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows) by SandCastles Studio, published by Piko Interactive. Rated 16 by USK, M by ACB.
Story
Deep within a vast and deadly labyrinth, the wizard Mordamir cries out for help, and an aging wizard answers the call to rescue his mentor and master. Descending level by level into the sprawling dungeon, the old sorcerer must survive a gauntlet of lethal traps, cunning puzzles, and monstrous inhabitants: invisible shades, flesh-eating slimes, giant worms, a colossal spider, and warring tribes of goblins and trolls. By sparing the goblin king, he earns their fragile allegiance, and along the way he receives aid from Ulindor, a loyal warrior, and a mysterious merchant peddling potions and enchanted items. Resting on scattered straw beds, the wizard drifts into strange dreams that reveal an ancient civilization of peaceful dragons who once dwelled beneath the caverns, and the walled city of Erinoch with its fabled fountains of youth. As he presses toward the labyrinth's depths, the secrets buried in those visions draw ever closer.
