"Falling asleep at 3AM, you close your eyes to the cheesy commercial of Dr."
Falling asleep at 3AM, you close your eyes to the cheesy commercial of Dr. Pierce's dream therapy program. You wake up in an unfamiliar environment, only to realize that you're stuck in a dream - a dream where perception is reality. Welcome to Superliminal. Superliminal is a first-person puzzle game inspired perspective and optical illusions. Players tackle impossible puzzles by thinking outside the box and learning to expect the unexpected. This game features a wonderfully subdued world, an intriguingly voiced narrative, and things that are really weird.
Released 12 November 2019 for Mac, PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S by Pillow Castle Games, published by Noodlecake Studios. Rated PG by ACB, E by ESRB. About 4 hours to beat, 13 hours for everything.
Story
A patient checks into the Pierce Institute to try SomnaSculpt, an experimental dream-therapy technology, and is put to sleep inside a testing environment built within their own dreamworld — a place where reality bends and objects can be reshaped through perspective. When they fail to wake at the appointed time, they find themselves slipping ever deeper through successive layers of dream. Guided over crackling radios by the institute's Dr. Glenn Pierce and prompted by the therapy's automated system, the dreamer must navigate an increasingly surreal and unstable mindscape, searching for their own way back to waking life.
