Alter-Egoism of Apocalypse

Shirayuki's mother was gruesomely murdered when she was young. It's been years since then and Shirayuki has joined the army. One day, she received a letter revealing that the murderer is in her mother's homeland of Hinomoto. She travels there and enrolls in Iris Academy, which trains mana-wielding Agents. Though manaless, Shirayuki is able to keep up with her fellow trainees through sheer force of will. There, she meets Yozuru, her new Buddy. The two of them grow close and Shirayuki realizes that there's more to live for than avenging her mother. Should she continue to hunt down her mother's killer, even if it means sacrificing all that she cares for to do so?
